Our Story

We’re  proud to be a proper, traditional Dublin pub — a place shaped by conversation, community, and a well-poured pint. From the moment you step inside, you’ll find the warmth, character and relaxed welcome that have long defined Dublin pub life.

Our story, however, stretches beyond the city. The Harty’s name has its roots in the original Harty’s Brewery, established in the 1980s in Blessington by Oliver Hughes and Liam LaHart. At a time when independent brewing was far from the norm in Ireland, the brewery was built on a belief in quality, independence and doing things the right way — values that still matter today.

That same ethos carries through to Harty’s today. It’s not about recreating the past, but about honouring it: great drinks, honest hospitality, and a pub that feels lived-in rather than designed. Whether you’re dropping in for a quiet pint, catching up with friends, or settling in for the evening, Harty’s is a place where tradition feels natural — and where everyone is welcome.
